In today’s world, however, retailers sell online. They use many different eCommerce solutions and sell products through many different channels. Taking the product information contained within vendor-supplied spreadsheets and making it compatible with their various sales channels is time consuming, error-prone work that involves manually inputting product information of various types (updates to inventory, pricing, notices of discontinued products etc.) into their sales channels. Not fun. In fact, this job is so unpleasant that really big retailers often insist that vendors do this work for them.
